The Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade is set for Saturday, May 3, on a one-mile stretch of the Southwest Trail.
The annual tradition will see illuminations, giant puppets, marching bands, and residents along the trail in a Mardi Gras-style event. The Lantern Parade is curated and orchestrated by its founder, Chantelle Rytter and the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons.
The parade will start at Adair Park I, 742 Catherine St. SW and end at Lee+White, 1070 White St. SW. Lineup will begin at 7:35 p.m. and step-off at 8:35 p.m.
Five marching bands will accompany the Krewe this year: Atlanta Drum Academy, Atlanta Freedom Band, Black Sheep Ensemble, Mausiki Scales and the Common Ground Collective, Seed & Feed Marching Abominables, and Grammy-Award winning artist Kebbi Williams and the Wolfpack.
A post-parade “All-Band-Puppet-Jam” will be held at the Lee + White Food Hall parking lot starting at 9:15 p.m. It will be a unique opportunity to interact with the Krewe’s giant puppets and all of the participating bands.
