Chinese Government Scholarship Program (CGSP) 2024-25 for Pakistani and AJK Nationals

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is inviting applications from Pakistani and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) nationals for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program (CGSP) 2024-25.

Scholarship Details

  • Levels Offered: BS, MS, and Ph.D. Programs
  • Duration:
    • Undergraduate: 4-5 years
    • Master’s: 2-3 years
    • Ph.D.: 3-4 years
  • Mandatory Chinese Language Preparatory Classes: 1-2 years
  • Areas of Study:Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Economics, Legal Studies, Management, Education, History, Literature, Philosophy, FineĀ Arts. Also read US Need Based Scholarship for Pakistani Students

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pakistani and AJK nationals
  • Permanent residents of Pakistan and AJK
  • Dual nationals are not eligible
  • Undergraduate Scholarships:
    • Relevant qualification (Intermediate/A-level/FA/FSc/12 years of education)
    • Age under 25 years on or before the closing date
  • Master’s Scholarships:
    • Relevant first-class qualification (BS/16 years of education)
    • Age under 35 years on or before the closing date
  • Ph.D. Scholarships:
    • Relevant first-class qualification (MS/MPhil/17-18 years of education)
    • Age under 40 years on or before the closing date
  • Must meet CSC application requirements and admission requirements of Chinese universities
  • Not awaiting results or currently availing of other scholarships
  • Minimum HAT or USAT test score of 50 out of 100 (applicants who have taken the test on or after January 01, 2023)

Application Process

  1. Apply Online:
    • HEC Online Portal
    • CSC Online Portal (Program Type: A, Agency No. 5861)
  2. Submit Documents (Only Shortlisted Candidates):
    • Signed application forms from both HEC and CSC portals
    • Attested copies of educational degrees, CNIC/B-form, Domicile, and equivalence certificates
    • Study plan or research proposal (200 words for BS, 500 words for MS, 800 words for Ph.D.)
    • Research publications and achievements (Ph.D. only)
    • Two original recommendation letters (MS and Ph.D. only)
    • Language proficiency certificates or IELTS/TOEFL/HSK score
    • Passport valid till March 1, 2025
    • Medical examination report
    • Police clearance certificate (not older than six months)
    • NOC from employer (if employed)
  • Monthly Stipend:
    • Undergraduate: CNY 2,500
    • Master’s: CNY 3,000
    • Ph.D.: CNY 3,500
  • Covered Expenses: Education fees, administration costs, health insurance, and academic activities
  • Travel Expenditure: Borne by recipients
