With a noticeable drop in temperature, the Sindh government made a crucial announcement on Friday regarding changes in school timings across the province.
In accordance with a notification from the Sindh Education and Literacy Department, both private and government schools throughout the province will commence operations from 8:30 am onwards.
This decision stems from the ongoing wave of severe cold weather in the region, as outlined in the notification. It further clarifies that the adjusted school timings will remain in effect until January 31, 2024.
The notification follows the resumption of classes in schools across Sindh on January 1, marking the end of a 10-day winter vacation that began on December 22, 2023. Read this Abu Dhabi University Scholarships Open Doors for Dreamers!
Additionally, the upcoming academic year in both public and private schools within Sindh is scheduled to kick off on April 15, 2024, while colleges will begin on August 1, 2024.
Notably, Sindh is not the sole province grappling with severe cold conditions. The Punjab government, in response to harsh weather, has extended the winter holidays for public and private educational institutions until January 9.
Schools in Punjab are slated to reopen on January 10, accompanied by stringent measures regarding the mandatory wearing of face masks within school premises.
