Unverified information is circulating on social media, suggesting that educational institutions across the country might close for eight days next month due to the scheduled General Election on February 8.

Reports indicate that educational institutes are likely to close on Sunday, February 4, and again on February 5 for Kashmir Day. Subsequently, they may remain closed during the election period from February 6 to 10.

These institutions are expected to stay shut on Sunday, February 11, with plans to reopen on February 12. February is anticipated to have two public holidays: one on February 5 for Kashmir Day and another on February 8 for the general elections.

It’s crucial to note that these reports have not been officially confirmed by authorities. Earlier, there were indications that educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be closed from February 7 to 9 due to the general elections.

Although officials have reportedly made a decision, the official announcement is expected in the first week of February. Additionally, local authorities may contemplate extending the holidays based on the prevailing circumstances.
