Dr Arif Alvi, president of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, said that according to the article 48(5) election should be on 6th November 2023. He more added in letter that The National Assembly was dissolved on president on the advice of Prime Minister on 9th August 2023.
In the letter, President gave reference to the article 48 (5). According to this article, it is clear that President has right to announce election date before 90 days after dissolving the assemblies.
Generally in Pakistan election date appoint according to the constitution of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi clearly mentioned the article and give reference and announce date according to the article.
The president wrote in a letter that it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to conduct a free & fair election. What will happen? Will the Election Commission of Pakistan conduct the election on the advised date by Dr Arif Alvi?

A short bio details about the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi, Dr Arif Alvi born on 29 July 1949 in Karachi. His father Habib-ur-Rehman who was a Dentist in British India, and then he migrated to Pakistan after the partition of Pakistan and India in 1947.

Arif Alvi got graduation degree in Bachelor of Dental Surgery from De’Montmorency College of Dentistry, After this, he got master’s degree from University of Michigan in Prosthodontics in 1975.
Dr Arif Alvi was a first Pakistani who become the Chairman of International Dental Council in 1981, after 6 years, in 1987 he became the “Chairman of Third Pakistani International Dental Council”. After these achievements, he became the Patron of the fifth Pakistan International Dental Council. After few years, in 1997 Dr Arif Alvi became the Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics.
When he was studying in De’Montmorency College of Dentistry, he was part of Student Union, and he was politicaly affiliated with Islami-Jamait Taliba and he also remained president of the Student Union.
He became the part of politics after the announcement of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in 1977 general election. As a candidate of JI he was on the Sindh Assembly seat in 1979. According to Dr Arif Alvi he left the party, and he inspired by PTI Chairman Imran Khan and joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in 1996.
After joining, he became the founding member of PTI Party and tasked to prepare constitution for party. He ran on the seat Sindh Provisional Assembly as the candidate of PTI for PS-89 Karachi South-V. But he was got success, he lost the seat, he became the voice president of PTI in 2006.
From constituency NA-247 (Karachi South-II), he was reelected to the National Assembly as the candidate of PTI. He defeated to Sayed Zaman Ali Jaffery and got 91,020 votes.
In election 2018, Dr Arif Alvi elected as President of Pakistan. Sept 4, 2018 he elected as took oath as the President of Pakistan. He defeated Aitzaz Hassan and Fazal-ur-Rehman by getting 352 votes. After the success, the President Dr Arif Alvi thanked to PTI chairman Imran Khan and Supporters.
