Lahore: Maryam Nawaz elected as Chief Minister of Punjab province, while opponent Sunni Ittehad Council’s Rana Aftab Ahmed did not get any vote.

Pakistan Muslim League N Maryam Nawaz elected first women CM in the history of Punjab. As per details, 220 MPAs supported Maryam Nawaz in Provisional Assembly.

The final result announced after the voting, Maryam Nawaz has obtained 220 votes and SIC Party Candidate Rana Aftab Aftab secured 0-votes.

She is fourth CM of the Sharif family and first women CM of Punjab. Vice president of the PMLN withdraw from National Assembly Seats, 

The session was started with 30-mintues delayed, and was presided by newly elected Speaker of Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan.
