On Monday, the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar appointed Mohsin Naqvi as the new Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), according to sources reported by ARY News.
The interim PM approved the resignation of Zaka Ashraf, who served as the Chairman of PCB, and appointed Mohsin Naqvi to take over the position.

Zaka Ashraf had resigned from the position of Chairman Management Committee and Member Board of Governor (BoG) after seven months of service. In his resignation statement, Ashraf mentioned his dedication to the improvement of Pakistan cricket.
However, he expressed dissatisfaction with the working conditions, stating that he couldn’t continue in such circumstances. He also clarified that the nomination of a new chairman is not within the prime minister’s authority.
Zaka Ashraf had led the PCB Management Committee, which was formed in July 2023 for a four-month term by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, who exercised his prerogative as the patron of the PCB.
