Muhammad Haris Returned to Pakistan after denied NOC

Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Haris has returned home after the PCB refused to issue a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for his participation in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Haris, a part of Chattogram Challengers’ squad. Had already played in two overseas T20 tournaments from July 2023 to July 2024, as permitted by the PCB. He featured in the Lanka Premier League and the Global T20 Canada in July-August the previous year, representing B-Love Kandy and Surrey Jaguars, respectively.

Despite arriving early to prepare for the Bangladesh Premier League, Haris learned that the NOC would not be issued. Expressing gratitude to the Chattogram team management and the BCB for the opportunity, he mentioned, “Unfortunately, my NOC was not issued. Hence, I will not play any games. I knew my team needed me. Hopefully, I will join them next year. I will definitely miss playing the BPL.”

Chattogram Challengers won their first match against Sylhet Strikers but faced defeat against Khulna Tigers in the second game. The franchise is yet to announce a replacement for Haris.
