Pakistan is on the 7th Position in Corruption List


Pakistan has significantly improved its fight against corruption, moving up 7 positions in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2023. The country now stands at 133, a notable climb from its previous position of 140 in 2022. Additionally, the CPI score has seen a tangible increase, rising by 2 points to reach 29 in 2023, compared to 27 in 2022.

These positive developments highlight the collaborative efforts across various government sectors to effectively address corruption.

Justice (R) Zia Perwez, Chair of Transparency International Pakistan, praised the government’s dedication to improving governance and enforcing laws more efficiently. He expressed optimism that these policies will continue to yield positive outcomes in the future.

Transparency International underscores the importance of granting justice systems autonomy, adequate resources, and transparency to comprehensively combat corruption.

Perwez emphasized the need for governments to strengthen legal frameworks and procedures, empowering justice institutions in their ongoing battle against corrupt practices.
