Caretaker Minister of IT & Telecom, Dr. Umar Saif, has unveiled plans for the expansion of Pakistan’s IT exports in the Middle East.
This announcement follows the signing of memorandums of understanding with three Qatari companies, signaling a positive outlook for increased IT exports in the region.
Dr. Umar Saif disclosed that the launch of 5G is anticipated in July next year, with concerted efforts focused on the allocation of the 300 MHz spectrum for 5G. Addressing concerns from telecommunication companies regarding 5G implementation, he assured proactive measures.
Within the next three weeks, a dedicated telecommunication tribunal is set to be established, accompanied by the formation of an action advisory committee for 5G. Dr. Umar Saif expressed optimism that all telecommunication companies will actively participate in acquiring the spectrum.Highlighting the imperative of women’s involvement in decision-making, Dr. Umar Saif stressed the need for equal opportunities for women in the business sector.
The government has initiated various schemes to foster women’s participation and empowerment. During the ceremony, representatives from the World Bank Group shed light on initiatives aimed at shaping the future environment and increasing capital to support women in business.
