Chico Cantina, a new Mexican restaurant from Botica chef Mimmo Alboumeh, will open at Town Brookhaven in April.
Once open, the Mexican cantina will include a large indoor dining space and a heated patio featuring over 30 televisions, with the aim of creating a “fresh, relaxed vibe” for patrons, according to a release.
Co-designed by Tony Akly of Restaurants Consulting Group, the dining space boasts an eye-catching cobalt blue bar made of handcrafted Mexican tile, while the patio implements “garage-style doors” for its entrance.
On the food side, Chico Cantina’s menu will feature a variety of dishes described as “a fusion of Mexican and American favorites.”
Included on the menu are empanadas, halibut ceviche, tamales, oysters, tacos, enchiladas, a chef’s burger (made with locally sourced ingredients), along with several brunch dishes like breakfast tacos, chilaquiles fiesta, shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles. Born in Lebanon and raised in Spain and Italy, Alboumeh is also known for blending Mexican flavors with a Mediterranean twist.
The bar will offer over 30 tequilas and handcrafted cocktails, including margaritas, Palomas, sangrias, and mojitos.
Chico Cantina will open daily for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant will serve weekend brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
