Robert Pattinson recently opened up about how Zendaya helped him keep his cool while grappling with the script for his latest film, The Drama.
During an interview, the Mickey 17 star reminisced about getting ready for a day of filming alongside Zendaya, saying,
“We had a scene together that was really driving me up the wall.”
Pattinson went on to explain,
“I was searching for its meaning so intensely that I ended up writing pages and pages of analysis.”
He even confessed that he called Zendaya the night before they were supposed to shoot the scene. The actor shared all his “doubts” during that two-hour phone call.
He reflected on how the Euphoria star “calmly” helped him realize that the line was straightforward and didn’t have any hidden layers. Before that call, Pattinson admitted the dialogue had been driving him “crazy for three days.”
In other parts of the interview, Pattinson mentioned that he tends to overanalyze scripts, which is just part of how he approaches filmmaking. He said,
“I often get caught up trying to decode things, turning simple ideas into puzzles that really aren’t there.”
The Drama, written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, also features Mamoudou Athie and Alana Haim. As reported by IndieWire, this romantic comedy-drama focuses on a couple whose relationship takes an unexpected turn just before their wedding. So far, the film doesn’t have a release date.
