🏢 The Dunwoody Planning Commission is considering a zoning change at today’s meeting that will allow a 98,000-square-foot office building to be converted into a 122-unit townhome community.
🚍 MARTA continues to collect rider feedback at in-person and virtual meetings regarding its plan to change 100 bus routes across the city.
🚲 Atlanta Streets Alive has announced the routes for April, May, and June, kicking off with a return to Peachtree Street on April 27.

2. NETWorks launches ‘Growings’ project to provide fresh produce year-round
🌱 NETWorks, a Tucker-based cooperative of churches aligned to provide food and financial support to those in need, is growing – literally.
Volunteer Neil Duggan, a retired aerospace engineer who has experience in hydroponic farming, is spearheading a NETWork project called “Growings,” which will utilize 4,000 square feet of unused space to create a vegetable farm.
Growings is expected to produce about 200 pounds of leafy greens monthly, which will be made available to clients who shop at the NETWorks grocery store.

3. Endangered right whale, other flora and fauna get new look in 10-year Georgia wildlife plan update
🐳 Over the next 10 years, the North Atlantic right whale, the Chattooga River crayfish, and the Sicklefin Redhorse fish may get some outsized attention from conservationists.
The aquatic creatures are among more than 1,000 plants, animals, and habitats that are being included in Georgia’s 2025 State Wildlife Action Plan or SWAP.
The proposal, which is updated every 10 years to receive federal funds, safeguards Georgia’s wildlife and biodiversity by creating a wish list of species to shield from harm.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HANDS ON ATLANTA
🥑 StreetWise Georgia in Lawrenceville seeks volunteers to help with warehouse prep on Thursday morning. Roles include sorting donations, stocking shelves, packing food boxes, and loading food into cars. A background check is required.
🥒 Atlanta’s Grace Community Fellowship Church needs volunteers Friday afternoon for their food pantry. Expect to help prepare and distribute food to the community.
🚘 The King’s Table in Stonecrest (pictured) is looking for volunteers to help with their food distribution drive-through on Saturday morning. Opportunities include assembling food bags, traffic control, helping with guest intake forms, and loading food into vehicles.
